Waroeng Windsor The Authentic Indonesian Food House Aldershot

How it all began

The authentic Indonesian food house in the UK

Waroeng Windsor is an established a brand name for Indonesian food and groceries in the catering and events industry and is well known throughout the Indonesian community in the UK and Indonesia. The company was founded by Aqaya Davenport in 2011, in response to requests to sell her homemade Satay at an Indonesian cultural event in Windsor, and at a number of functions at the residence and office of His Excellency the Indonesian Ambassador to the UK.

This was followed in 2012 by requests to exhibit ad sell at festivals organized by the Indonesian student associations in Newcastle, Nottingham, Oxford, and Central London. We now attend each festival annually.

Success at these events provided the impetus to promote Indonesian food to a wider and more varied audience at festivals, carnivals, and shows throughout mainland Britain. Our commitment to the festivals market has won a number of best stall and food awards including Nottingham food festival, Notting Hill Carnival, Festival Asia, Hello Indonesia, and Indonesian Weekend annual events in London.

We continue to be regular exhibitors selling iconic brand of authentic Indonesian food at events in the UK including:

  • Hello Indonesia (Trafalgar Square) London
  • Indonesian Weekend (Tower Hill) London
  • Notting Hill Carnival (Kensington) London
  • Cowley Road Carnival Oxford
  • Love Food Festivals at Reading, GT Missenden, Walton-on0Thames
  • York Food Festival
  • Foodies Festivals, (Syon Park) London, (Alexandra Palace) London
  • Woking Food and Drink Festival Woking Surrey

With continued success in the festivals market, Waroeng Windsor opened a café in Aldershot in February 2016. The café sells a range of Indonesian cooked dishes, dry goods, spices, coffee, and tea. The café has a small but varied menu showcasing food and drink from Sumatera, Java, Bali, and Sulawesi. The café also retails imported dry goods and fresh spices from Indonesia including a variety of coffees from Java, Bali, Papua, and Sumatera. Waroeng Windsor has been defined by customers as the authentic Indonesian food house in the UK.
